We all call Earth home, so it鈥檚 only fitting to dedicate a week to celebrating and protecting it.
Earth Week returns April 20鈥24 and 91原创 (GGC) is marking the occasion with a full lineup of interactive events designed to inspire sustainability and environmental awareness. All activities are free and open to the public.
鈥淓arth Week is a chance to learn about our environment and sustainability practices that can be incorporated into our daily lives,鈥 said Aubrey Dyer, GGC鈥檚 Institute for Environmental Science and Sustainability director. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a reminder of the importance of protecting our natural resources for today and future generations.鈥
GGC Earth Week Events
Monday, April 20 鈥 Mixed Media Monday
Noon鈥4 p.m. | Building B
Kick off the week with a sustainable art showcase featuring upcycled creations from students, faculty and staff. Attendees can also create their own eco-friendly artwork to take home.
Tuesday, April 21 鈥 Pollinator Workshop
Noon鈥3 p.m. | Microfarm (behind the Convocation Center)
Learn about the critical role pollinators play in our ecosystems and food systems, and how you can help protect them.
Wednesday, April 22 鈥 Sustainability Fair & Grizzly Thrift
Noon鈥4 p.m. | Daniel J. Kaufman Library patio
Connect with campus and community organizations while exploring practical ways to reduce waste, conserve energy and live more sustainably.
Thursday, April 23 鈥 Adopt-a-Road Cleanup
Noon鈥2 p.m. | Meet at Building I (Collins Industrial Way parking lot)
Give back to the local community by helping clean a nearby roadway. Supplies will be provided.
Friday, April 24 鈥 Grizzly Green Connections Alumni Panel
9:15鈥11 a.m. | Building B, Room 1000
